Difficulty: Level 1 Travelers through the Hornfang Forest have spotted freakish monsters near the border between the forest and the Saltmarsh of the Seventeen Sins. The townspeople asked NAME to investigate and deal with any phantoms or menaces he/she finds.
In the dark heart of the salt marsh, NAME came upon its sinister secret. As he/she peeked through the reeds, he/she saw green steam rising from a large black cauldron. Three witches dressed in wispy black rags took turns stirring the concoction heating over glowing red coals. Occasionally one of the witches would ladle some of the green broth into a bowl and place it in a cage with a wild animal. Moments after the animal drank the brew, it cried out as its body twisted into that of a horrible monster. After the first monster burst from its cage and ran off, NAME knew he/she had to put an end to this -- now!
NAME had a cunning plan. He/She soaked his/her cloak in the mud, climbed a tree, and slid out onto a branch over the witches. He/She dropped the cloak over one of them, dropped down onto the second, and ATTACKED the third one with his/her WEAPON. Back in town, the inn was abuzz with tales of NAME's "triple kill." He/She didn't spread around the story of how he/she had found some saucy loot in the witches' hut.
Having no good plan, NAME burst from the reeds. Hooting and hollering like a wild turkey, NAME charged at the three witches. When the witches were through with NAME, he/she felt like she had been plucked, basted, and roasted like a turkey too. NAME escaped, but the witches continued to menace the citizens with their sinister broth.
