Difficulty: Level 3 The town of Brindol has experienced a time of peace after the war with the goblins of the Red Hand. Recently several citizens of the town have gone missing, and relics of the war have been stolen, leading many to wonder if Brindol will ever find peace. Who will search the forest and discover what has happened to these unfortunate townsfolk and bring them back alive?
An ogre with scruffy ape-like features rounded a corner, and townsfolk screamed and ran in all directions. The ogre had a cart full of barrels in tow. He lit a fuse on one of the barrels and threw it down the road toward NAME.
NAME jumped the first barrel, and then the second, all while advancing on the ogre. When he/she jumped the third barrel, he/she pulled the lit fuse out of it and threw it into the wagon behind the ogre. He/She ducked into a butcher shop as the remaining barrels exploded, killing the monkey-faced monster.
NAME jumped the first barrel, but was knocked back by the second. Undeterred, he/she tried again . . . and again . . . each time NAME couldn't get past the second barrel. Fortunately a little boy was sneaking up on the cart and, while the ogre was focused on NAME, the boy was able to light the remaining barrels on fire. They exploded, killing the monkey-faced monster.
Encounter 8: Final Encounter
Final Encounter Text
Finally, NAME found Sinruth's audience chamber. It was a long room, with a wall-to-wall pit across the middle. NAME was on one side, and Sinruth himself was on the other. He swung his long spiked chain over his head, faster and faster before aiming it right at NAME's face.
In a moment of inspiration, NAME held up his/her WEAPON TYPE to intercept the chain. The chain wrapped around it twice, and while Sinruth looked on in shock, NAME yanked his chain, dragging him into the pit. Unfortunately for the hobgoblin, he had filled this pit in his audience chamber with extra sharp spikes. NAME searched the nearby rooms for a board to use as a bridge and was able to rescue the townsfolk who were locked in cages in the far corner of the room.
NAME ducked the chain, and then jumped over it . . . but having no way to get across he/she ran out of the room to find something to use as a bridge. When he/she returned Sinruth was gone. At least NAME was able to rescue a few townsfolk who were locked in cages in the far corner of the room.
